The Story So Far

Synopsis:

Mystic Falls, Virginia, is home to vampires, witches and an array of unreasonably attractive and winsome teens. High school hottie Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) falls for mysterious new man in town, Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley), who happens to be a vampire. He doesn��t drink human blood, unlike his older brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder) or their sire, the very evil -- and presumed dead -- Katherine (Nina Dobrev) with whom both brothers still hold a certain fascination. Elena, of course, looks exactly like Katherine. Let the good times roll.

Season 1:

In a season packed with incident, the major plot points are the love triangle between Elena and the Salvatore brothers; Damon’s questionable morality; Elena’s younger brother Jeremy’s (Steven R. McQueen) fling with ill-fated vampire Anna (Malese Jow); the witchiness of local teen Bonnie (Katerina Graham) and Elena’s uncertain parentage. Plus, sadistic vamp Katherine isn’t nearly as dead as everyone thought she was. Oh, the hijinks!
