The Story So Far
Synopsis:
Dr. Helen Magnus (Amanda Tapping) has dedicated her long life, 157 years and counting, to the care and protection of Abnormals, individuals with unique abilities or properties that keep them from existing in the everyday world.Season 1:
Dr. Will Zimmerman (Robin Dunne), a criminal profiler who once claimed a monster killed his mother, is recruited to the Sanctuary by Helen. He meets the rest of Helen's team -- her thrillseeking daughter Ashley (Emilie Ullerup) and the technophile Henry (Ryan Robbins) -- and is soon thrust into the world of mermaids, Bigfoot, a teleporting Jack the Ripper (Christopher Heyerdahl), Nikola Tesla (Jonathon Young) as an electrified vampire, and invisible women. The season-long battle against the anti-Sanctuary Cabal ends with Ashley being taken from the team.
Season 2:
Helen confronts her past in more ways than one, forced to work with both Tesla and Druitt to find her kidnapped daughter. When the search ends in tragedy, Helen is forced to pick up the pieces with new team member Kate Freelander (Agam Darshi) and Will gets closer to the world of Abnormals than ever before when he becomes seriously ill during the search for an Abnormal with unbelievable power.
